Esme’s Blog
Hi Bloggers,
It has been a full week this week. I have been swimming in our lake (see picture of our lake below), this I have enjoyed immensely.
The lake has been a no go area for the last few years due to it being covered in this
Duckweed stuff, horrible green seed like things that became so thick it killed all the fish.
After lots of work by the Bosses, which have all been mentioned here before, the lake is now back in good shape.
The Boss has put a treatment in last week so although it claims to be safe to everything I am not allowed in again for a couple of weeks. It certainly has cleared the water though.
I have also been spending time with my son ‘The Stig’ or Stig as I call him.
He is a grand little chap and we have some great games, I have to try not to be too rough and he does not seem to know how not to be too rough.
He comes up the field with us on his lead and I usually drop my ragger for him to find and he then carries it proudly down to the house,
at which the bosses expound his virtues as a potential retriever.
I think the bosses have softened since my baby boy arrived as now we all get some new special treats.
Davey & Zeb have always had a little ice cream and custard when the two bosses had them, that was their treat but now we all get the same,
plus me and my boy get milky water after breakfast like mum and Davey have always had.
We also get a new ‘arrowroot biscuit’ with our ginger nuts at 6.00pm, it’s like being really spoiled my mum ( Angie ) tells me.
She even says that all dogs do not get treated like this but I don’t know whether she is just putting the frighteners on me so that I behave.
Stig is having his last inoculation this week and soon I’ve heard it said that as well as mum (Elaine) taking him around the local market like she did with me and many of my other relatives, soon we will be resuming roadwalking to get the Stig toned up for his forthcoming show debut later in the year.
I like roadwalking as the place we go is very different from where we live, with different sights, sounds and smells plus we usually meet a few people who are there with other dogs and I’ll be able to show my boy how one should behave in company.
He has much to learn about etiquette and it is my role to hand down the traditions that were shown to me.
I’ll keep you updated on the progress of the family so be sure and come back

all the fish died
This was last year after work
was carried out by the Bosses
and now it’s even clearer
after the new treatment.
What a lovely place to take a swim
