Esme’s Blog

Hi Bloggers,

Please try and read the Stig’s blog, my little boy has spirit I’ll give him that, he also has a lot to learn.

According to my mum (Angie), many have tried but none have succeeded in persuading the bosses that their way is best.

I never had this trouble, but that is because I just wanted to learn and the boss was always ready to teach me something new.

I can see me having to have a word in the boy’s ear and just set him straight , if he can just cooperate he might just realise where he is well off !

In many ways he is a bit too easy going, the bosses keep telling people, “it’s not like having a puppy around, he is so good”.

It’s true , he does not get them up in a morning, usually his dad (Zeb) does that, he does not demand food, his gran (Angie) does that.

He does not even demand training and going up the field with the boss and his gun, I do that !

He is bright though and very friendly and affectionate, we have already started to bond and he knows I am watching out for him.

Whatever the bosses are teaching him at present he seems to do, but with a little reluctance.

I can’t make out whether he already knows he his a Weimaraner and that’s what they do or if he is just trying it on to see if he can get away with it.

Either way the bosses are too experienced  to allow his tantrums to continue and I know they will win him over.

He has been standing in his show pose for a bit longer every day, he takes his own ragger up the field to carry now.

His short retrieves are improving and he will recall from quite a distance, he surprised me with that one, he is only 14 weeks old,

he must take after his mum for being bright, if he puts in the effort I may have some competition.

So what about my week, I have started eating the fallen apples every time I go up the field and yes, I get told off for that,

but like I said before I know I am a Weimaraner so the bosses will tolerate that little bit of spirit from time to time.

In fact I have heard them say that it is the spirit and character that makes them so fond of the breed.

Uncle Zeb has only had a token involvement with his son so far, not sure whether I need to call him ‘Husband Zeb’ now,

I’ll need to think about that one. Anyway Zeb as he does when he is pleased to see someone has given him the grin.

A full face smile showing all his teeth, mum (Angie) does it best when she is demanding food or her milky water in the morning.

I dare say when ‘The Stig’ is big enough dad will be keen to show him how to jump over a fence without looking and tripping on the top strand,

Zeb is good at that one, he ends up base over apex.....................notice I cleaned that one up for my world wide audience !

Vinnie is totally oblivious to the boy, although the boy comes up the field with Vinnie , mum & me, because Stig is on the lead Vinnie ignores him.

Davey, the most senior Ryanstock at over 13 and a half has been extremely ill and the boss will give a full account next week on the NEWS page.

But he is on the mend now, thank goodness.

Davey is so good that when he comes around the field with us we all look up to him as he is pretty perfect, a real gentleman,

no dashing around, he just potters these days but he does his own thing and carries a ragger without putting it down once every time we go.

We all get treats for that when we get to to the house, like I said last week if Davey or Uncle Zeb,............yeh that still sounds best,

if they have treats we all get treats. In fact the best time for treats is when we have our nails filed. After each dog completed we get a full round of treats,

so by the time we are all finished we are pretty much full up !

Speak to you all next week..........................ESME
