Esme’s Blog

Hi fellow Bloggers,

My blog this week starts with water training, mine being successful and my son learning a lesson from the bosses.

I have managed to get the boss to put up a few pictures of me training in our lake.

I would love to do this every day but it appears that the bosses have other things that must be done.

I can’t think what could be more important than spending time with me, but I suppose my son is taking up some of their time now.

I know he’s been off on my favourite road walks a few times this week and he is still doing some basic training, nothing serious yet though.

I have not spent much time with Uncle Zeb and so I have let the bosses know by standing at the baby gate and asking to go out with him.

It’s good to get some time with him as we will have a lot of work to do around here soon, clearing off rabbits , squirrels and the like.

Those squirrels have already had the hazel nuts up the field and again they are not ready yet, the boss is not amused.

Cover around here is thickening nicely and should soon hold a few game birds and we can point and flush as they have should have stopped breeding.

Cannot wait for the season to start I am looking forward to providing the boss with some sport and hope he provides me with some good retrieves.

We have had a friend’s GSP over this week , he competes and although only still a puppy is much more involved in his work than we are at that age.

The boss has been doing a bit of dummy throwing and trying to provide him with some more difficult exercises.

I heard the boss say that he should have a bright future if he carries on like this, he is very advanced, he has a good sympathetic handler too.

Me and mum (Angie) have been taking new raggers up the field every day, the boss in a moment of weakness bought everyone something new.

We keep losing them up the field , well if the rabbit is in the bush we don’t stand there with a mouthful of ragger, we are serious working dogs !

Anyway we are lucky that Vinnie who is not in to game is quite good at finding lost raggers, my boy also finds a few,

so they are never lost for more than a few days.

I heard the bosses talking yesterday after they had popped out and they have found a nice place to walk my boy and then stop for tea and coffee.

I do hope they don’t forget that me and mum (Angie) like a stroll now and again, I’m not speaking for Vinnie and Uncle Zeb, they can find their own days out.

Good to talk to you my friends, look after your dogs as you would want to be looked after,

treat your companions well and often, I’m looking forward to my treats this week and I’m not usually disappointed.

Speak to you all next week..........................ESME
